Resume

Michael is a Civil Engineer living in Vail, Colorado who specializes in site plan designs for custom homes. After earning his B.S. degree from Colorado School of Mines (esto va linkeado, como en la pagina en castellano) he began working for Marcin Engineering LLC, a small Civil Engineering and Surveying firm. In 2007 he formed GroundUP Engineering with the intent of providing civil consulting services and a dream of creating a bilingual guide to building construction that explained construction concepts in addition to being a language reference and learning tool. Casa Construction was diligently researched, written, and translated to get English and Spanish speaking workers “on the same page.” Mike has been involved in construction since his teenage years, learning from his father, Gary in Houston and San Antonio Texas. He developed passion for the Spanish language while studying engineering in Madrid, Spain and continued studying Spanish to become fluent. Mike has also traveled extensively through Mexico, Central and South America. When not at the computer “creating” Mike enjoys the rocky mountain lifestyle through backpacking, bicycling, kayaking, and snowboarding.

Gerardo Jadur is an industrial engineer now living in Mendoza, Argentina. He recently completed a thesis on “New Alternatives in Wine Industry” at Universidad Nacional de Cuyo. Gerardo began working with Mike on Casa Construction shortly after they met in Vail in January 2008. Gerardo is a native Spanish speaker and is fluent in American English as well. He has exceptional writing and translating skills and has played a key role in reviewing and translating Casa Construction, Exterior. Gerardo enjoys practicing sports on snow and he plays soccer and tennis. He has traveled around South America, United States and all Europe.
